Families from all around Ealing enjoyed a day filled with music, Roller skating and face painting. GNP provided a public health information and signposting stall. Also, to go with the Christmas party atmosphere, GNP organised a free “Let’s Get Cooking” Gingerbread Activity stall. This proved very popular with the parents, children and Rolladome staff.
An enthusiastic group of Rectory Park Estate residents took part in this free 4-week course. In addition to cooking 2 new recipes every week, the sessions included informal discussions about food safety and hygiene, cooking on a budget and healthy nutrition. Current public health awareness issues like cancer and alcohol awareness were also included. A guest speaker from West London Waste Authority gave a presentation on reducing food waste and DOSH financial mentors were available to give advice. Achievement certificates will be presented at the upcoming Family Day.
As part of the Greenford Community Market, GNP organised a health information stall and a very popular “Let’s Get Cooking” Gingerbread Activity stall. This went well alongside the Christmas market crafts stalls, the mulled wine, mince pies, Disney’s “Frozen” music and dance with Rollerbase activity. The Silverstar Diabetes van was there also and invited Greenford residents to have free diabetes checks. Look out for similar GNP events which are planned for the upcoming Greenford Community Market in January 2015.
